HCH Conference is jointly hosted by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Hubei Provincial Government and Wuhan Municipal Government. It has been successfully held for thirteen consecutive years since 2001 and has attracted thousands of participants from China and around world. It is one of the largest hi-tech innovation and business development conferences in China. This year a satellite BioForum of the HCH will be proudly co-organized by the Australian Chinese Association for Biomedical Sciences (ACABS) in Melbourne. This is the first satellite conference of HCH that has ever been held outside of China.
Increase in living standard and health care reform in China has brought tremendous opportunities for the biotech companies in Australia. Judicial enforcement of IP rights in China has been improved in recent years, which provides better environment for Australian company entering Chinese market. Chinese government has engineered the appropriate mechanisms for the growth of the biotech sector, in particular the private equity funds in contributing to the R&D, innovation and commercialisation projects. HCH Conference will provide an unique opportunity to understand these changes in the biotech industry in China and help us to identify the potential areas with business opportunities. In addition, the biotech companies in Victoria will gain access to profiles of Chinese biotech companies which participate the HCH Conference. Potential collaboration and partnership could be developed through this joining event.
