A successfully bioforum was on 24 June 2014 at the Investment Centre Victoria . It was the first ever satellite meeting of the HCH Conference held outside of China.
Nearly 100 people attended the conference with diverse backgrounds including scientists, commercialisation managers, IP attorneys, business people and government officials.We also delighted to have 7 Hubei provincial government and bio-industry delegations coming to Melbourne for attending this conference especially.
The conference was chaired by the Director of Hubei Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Mr Hu Bin. Due to conflict of time, Governor of Victoria His Excellency The Honorable Alex Chernov was unable to attend the conference in person, however he has sent his greeting in a pre-recorded video message. The Deputy Consul-General of Chinese Consulate in Melbourne Mr Huang Guobin, President of Australian Chinese Association for Biomedical Sciences Dr Ruchong Ou, and President of Hubei Association of Melbourne Mr Hu Kaiyun have delivered short speeches at the conference.
During the conference, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Australian Chinese Association for Biomedical Sciences and Wuhan National Bio-industry Base for strategic collaboration.
The keynote scientific presentations were given by Prof Weisan Chan and Prof Yonggang Zhu, and a number of short presentations in the field of cancer therapies, diagnostic tools, health related smartphone app and IP management.
